Construction Firm tipped for Quality Awards

A state-of-the-art building developed by Bingley based construction company, QSP Construction, has been shortlisted in this year’s LABC (Local Authority Building Control) Building Excellence Awards.

QSP were nominated by construction experts from West Yorkshire’s five local authorities for the development of a striking £3m headquarters for local dental products company Ortho-Care UK.

Now in their eighth year, the awards recognise builders and developers who achieve high standards of workmanship and who provide innovative and creative solutions to design and build challenges. QSP were one of just three construction firms across the region to be short listed in the commercial category.

The shortlisted building, in Riverside Estate near Salt’s Mill in Saltaire, provides a home for Ortho-Care’s sales and administrative operations, alongside warehousing and distribution, conference facilities, a canteen and gymnasium.

Andrew Walker, QSP director, said: “We’re delighted to be shortlisted for the LABC awards as they recognise the highest quality in construction, which we strive to achieve in all our projects. The new Ortho-Care HQ is a striking landmark building in Saltaire and combines cutting edge design with the craftsmanship and dedication of our site team.”

Richard Garford, co-founder of Ortho-Care said: “It was important that the new building could accommodate our growing business, support our future expansion plans and provide a comfortable working environment for our staff. QSP overcame a number of challenges on site and were able to provide an exceptional quality build. We’re delighted with the final result.”
