Oompah-pah: Celebrating the route to Munich

Last week Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA), Monarch Airlines and representatives from Munich Airport and German Tourist Boards gathered at the famous Leeds’ Bierkeller, to celebrate the new route from LBA to Munich with local travel agents, hoteliers and other esteemed guests.

Tony Hallwood, LBA’s commercial director said, “Munich is one of Germany’s most popular destinations and is the perfect location for a leisurely city break whilst also being close to the beautiful castles and picture postcard beauty of Bavaria.  For those looking for a more active holiday, it is also within easy reach of a wide range of ski resorts in both Bavaria and Austria.”

The fun filled afternoon included larger served in the traditional Stein Beer glasses, a German banquet and an Oompah band! Attendees also had the opportunity to win a variety of prizes from stationary sets to a three night stay in Munich.

The new year-round route will begin in December 2012 flying twice weekly until March when the service will increase to three times a week.  Prices start from £39.99 one way including taxes.
