Football tickets to ride for Doncaster leisure seekers

Football fans in Doncaster can now buy tickets to watch Rovers matches from the town’s most popular leisure and sports facilities.

Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust (DCLT) venues will be selling tickets for Doncaster Rovers’ upcoming home fixtures, as it continues to forge a strong relationship with the League One club.

DCLT were recently unveiled as official sponsors of Rovers’ Family Stand.

A limited number of tickets for Rovers’ first five home matches will now be on sale at DCLT venues, including The Dome, Adwick Leisure Centre, Armthorpe Leisure Centre, Askern Leisure Centre, Edlington Leisure Centre, Rossington Community Sports Village, St James Leisure Centre and Thorne Leisure Centre.

Gavin Baldwin, chief executive at Doncaster Rovers, said: “We have a great working relationship with DCLT.

“This move gives the people of Doncaster another way to buy Rovers tickets and see their local team in action. We are hoping that families using the facilities at centres like the Dome will take this chance to watch some great football this season.”

DCLT chief executive Michael Hart said: “Rovers are a valued partner and we are proud to work closely with them to promote Doncaster as a great sporting town.

“We are entering a new chapter in our strong relationship with them as we sponsor the Family Stand and we wanted to give our customers the opportunity to buy Rovers tickets directly from our venues.”

Tickets on sale at DCLT venues are for seats in the DCLT Family Stand and the Polypipe Stand South for Rovers’ home league matches in August and September.

The team’s first home game in their campaign to get back into The Championship is against Bury on Tuesday August 21, at 7.45pm. Newly promoted Crawley Town are the next visitors, on Saturday August 25, at 3pm.

September sees Rovers host Oldham Athletic on Saturday 8 and Stevenage Town on Saturday 22 in 3pm kick-offs.

These League One matches are all Category B fixtures, meaning tickets are priced at £20 for adults, £15 for concessions, £11 for young adults aged 17 to 20, £8 for children aged 12 to 16 and £5 for children under 11.
