Leeds Bradford Airport Prepares For Busy Bank Holiday Weekend

Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) is gearing up for a busy August Bank Holiday weekend, with an estimated 6 per cent increase in passengers and an estimated 25,000 passengers expected to fly out on the last summer bank holiday of the year.

The most popular hot spots are Tenerife in the Canary Islands, Dalaman in Turkey and the Greek Island of Corfu, all  in time for a last minute beach holiday before the children return to school.

Top short break destinations include Milan, Amsterdam and Dublin, combining leisurely  sight-seeing, culture and great food.

Closer to home, the recently opened Titanic Exhibition in Belfast is also proving popular with passengers looking for a vibrant weekend City break.  Located in the heart of Belfast on the slipways where RMS Titanic was built the attraction marks the 100 year anniversary of this iconic ship.

Tony Hallwood, Leeds Bradford Airport’s commercial director, said: “We are delighted to see so many passengers take advantage of the long weekend Bank Holiday with an end of summer beach or city break. As Yorkshire’s Gateway airport we also look forward to welcoming inbound visitors to experience the region’s beautiful destinations, rich culture and famous hospitality.”
